NTL have been successful in their takeover bid for Virgin Mobile. The deal, reportedly worth £962.4m, would mean that NTL would be re-branded as Virgin, making it the first quadruple-play service provider of TV, internet, phone and mobile telephony in the UK.
The deal comes at a time when the Mobile, Internet and Television industries have never seemed closer; with the existence of IPTV and talks of sending television news feeds to mobiles.
