Cool... this sounds interesting. I expect it'll take off very swiftly.

So Lost and Desperate Housewives will be available on demand after they have aired on TV. Lost Season 2 starts on May 2, and Channel 4 is offering the opportunity to download the new season two weeks after it has aired... How much money are they likely to get from charging 99p for a show which has recently been on TV at least twice? (E4 normally repeats Lost on Sunday nights) I'm guessing that it's going to be the few fans of the show who miss it both times - but surely it would be more financially viable to make the shows available before they air?

Yeah, it's interesting. It turns out that the full box set of season 1 costs something like £40 on play.com so it's cheaper to download it at 1 episode at 99p.

From what I read though, 99p only gets you the episode for 24 hours

Hmm... I wonder how long that bit of digital rights management will survive before it's cracked!

Sky have just started doing a similar thing with SkyMovies. Although as I understand it, as a Sky customer you can download the movies currently airing on the Sky Movies channels for free.
