“Every day, the business leaders on this year’s Counselor Power 50 list make their mark on the industry, whether it’s by their sheer power, bold moves or trendsetting influence,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. “Polyconcept’s Philippe Varnier, Yann Leca and David Nicholson changed the game – and moved from No. 8 to No. 1 – when they purchased Trimark Sportswear, becoming the first major supplier in the industry to sell both hard goods and apparel. All eyes are watching to see where their daring and enterprise take them next.”
The Power 50 list also contains seven newcomers:
The ranking is determined by a panel of editorial experts at the award-winning Counselor magazine. Using last year’s list as a starting point, the panel surveyed the industry at large and members of the previous Power 50, asking them to rate whether each person has gained or lost influence over the past year, and to nominate new candidates. The panel also carefully weighed nominees’ achievements and revenue throughout the year and the health of their companies.
This year’s group was announced at the ASI Power Summit, an exclusive event attended by more than 250 executives and business leaders from around the globe who discuss vital issues, identify best practices and determine ways in which the ad specialty industry can productively move forward.
