jumpcut advice

hi all....

new to the forum so hellooooo first of all :0)

I've been messing around with various bits of free video editing software...but nothing's really doing it for me....

I've also played with jumpcut ( www.jumpcut.com ) and that actually seems to give me better results than alot of the other stuff.

Creating reliable fire onset

Hi,

We're shooting a shot film in a couple of week's time and we need to create a reliable fire - the fire is actually in frame for several shots so we can't just use clever lighting - we need fire! We've been told that we need a "flamebar" (a metal pipe with holes in it that can be buried in the ground, you then feed gas into this pipe). I have several questions about this that I'd love some feedback on:

Hello

I'm a freelance journalist writing a piece about the British film industry. I'm looking at the government's relationship with the industry and particularly the accessibility of government support to independent producers.

Do we need a scubacam?

Do we need a scubacam housing if we're going to be filming above water? The shot will require a camera operator to wade into shallow water up to waist height and operate an Arri SR3. The shot will be of an actor who is also wading in the water - there won't be any splashes or spray.
