Hi everybody,
Things have been a bit hectic on set, but here is the production diary for day 4 and 5, or in English Thursday and Friday.
Following on from the torrential train on Wednesday night, I decided to rewrite the scene in 'The Eye', this was in the woods and is the bigest scene in the film, probably one of the longest scenes in film, running at 27 pages.
I contacted 'The Ashcroft Centre' in Fareham, and they were amazingly helpful. They allowed us to use their theatre to shoot in and we spent the entire day on Thursday and Friday morning in there.
The soot went amazingly well, although there was some confusion over how long we were able to be in the theatre and there was some amazingly uncalled for reactions from a member of staff at the centre.
On Thursday night, we also filmed a short scene of a spirit in the cemetery opposite the centre, this also went well.
On Friday, we were informed by two of those working on the film that they no longer wanted to work with us. It seems that this was due to us asking when they would be organising lunch for the cast and crew, which they had told us they'd arranged. They wanted us to provide them with some vouchers for the cost, though we had £30 which we used towards food for the cast, all of which are staying with us and we are providing them with dinner, though that now includes lunch, which we have been doign since we started shooting anyway.
This means that they took back the Ouija Board halfway through the shoot and messed up our scene in a shop, though none of these things caused a problem as a bit of rewriting sorted it all out.
The good news is that we are currently on schedule and, with a week to go, we are not worrying about te shoot now, we have some great scenes and we are happy with things.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the actors who have worked with us, I'd also like to thank Elspeth who was 2nd camera for our first week. it is a shame that Elspeth was unable to work with us for the full two weeks, but she has other work to be getting on with.
Anyway, this is starting to turn into a novel, so I will let you all get on with your lives. Things will be much brighter in the next week, so keep reading :o)
