About Us

UKFilm.org has one simple aim: to be the best community website for UK filmmakers and TV programme creators. With your help, we'd like to produce the most comfortable, informative and enjoyable website for everyone interested in moving images.

All those involved behind the scenes at UKFilm.org - even the geeky web designers and coders - are practising filmmakers. It pains us somewhat to use the old cliché but here goes: we are a site by filmmakers, for filmmakers.

We launched in March 2006 with four main features: a news feed, a feature article section, a forum and an events calendar. With luck, we will grow the site over time.

Geeky acknowledgements

This site is built entirely from (heavily customised) open-source software and we are hugely thankful to those who have dedicated their time and effort into producing such excellent software. Our server runs Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL and the website itself is based on Drupal. Thanks you lot.
